Brendan Ryan, Chief Executive Officer
Brendan’s extensive experience has been gained through more than 30 years in the oil and gas services industry working with global and private equity entities spanning the upstream, mid-stream and downstream segments.
He has worked in the areas of transportation/storage, fabrication, pipelines, flow measurement, inspection, deep-water survey and hydraulic fracturing silica dust mitigation. His roles have included managing operations and P&L;, sales strategy development, M&A; and driving business growth. He has demonstrated success integrating businesses to create growth and scale while transforming culture for optimum organizational accountability and commitment.
Before joining Hydrus Technology, Brendan held executive leadership positions with AIRIS Wellsite Services, UTEC Survey, Bredero Shaw, Shaw Pipeline Services and FMC Smith Systems.
Brendan is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland (BAI Engineering, BA Mathematics) and Texas A&M;, Corpus Christi, Texas (MBA).
James Rees, Chief Financial Officer
James Rees joined Hydrus Technology in 2017 after serving on the company's advisory board. He has over twenty years of international experience in investment banking and management consulting at companies including PwC (Australia and the United States), Greenhill, and Credit Suisse.
Over the course of his career, James has advised clients from Asia, Australia, and the United States on strategy, performance improvement, mergers and acquisitions, and raising capital. James has a bachelor's degree in economics, a bachelor's degree in commerce, and a graduate diploma in applied finance. Also, he is a chartered accountant.
James is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors; previously, James served as a director of the Australian American Association and TrademarkVision.
Scott Heffner, Executive Vice President of Operations, Americas
As a global operation and management executive, Scott has held “C” level roles in the water industry for 20 years, with the past 10 years focused on water reuse and reclaim in the Oil & Gas and Municipal markets.
Scott has 35 years of experience in the Water Treatment, Specialty Chemical and Oil & Gas industries, with 25 of those years involved in Direct P&L; Management, Operations/Manufacturing, Sales & Marketing, R&D;, Restructuring and Management Team Building. He was one of the top 20 executives involved in growing a $400M public water treatment and operating services company to $5.5B over a 6 year period and then selling it for $8.2B. Mr. Heffner led two successful startups and was instrumental in the buildout of an operating services company that developed proprietary technology to remediate municipal drinking water and groundwater supplies for the removal radionuclides.
Scott holds a BS Double Major in Chemistry & Math from Milligan College in Johnson City TN.
Wiley Parker, Chief Chemist - Head of Lab
Wiley Parker joined Hydrus Technology as Laboratory head in 2018. Prior to this Wiley had served as a technology manager for physical water treating (scale control) technology as the technology moved from Weatherford Engineered Chemistry to Lubrizol Oilfield Solutions and finally to ClearWELL Oilfield solutions. Wiley served as director of research at the fuel additive company ORYXE Energy and was a research chemist at GE Water and Process Technologies and Betz Process Chemicals. Wiley also served as an Assistant Professor of Physical Chemistry at North Dakota State University. Wiley received his Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from Washington State University in 1982 and his BSc in Chemistry from the University of Virginia in 1977.
